ALL BIDDING ON OUR ‘Cabin Fever’ Potpourri AUCTION IS COMPLETED!

Winning bidders will be sent invoices by email Tuesday January 31st. These invoices will include the winning bids, plus our standard 18% buyer’s premium, which is reduced to 15% if paying by check or money order. This invoice will also include postage, insurance and appropriate sales tax for the States of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Paper copies to the winning bidders will be mailed out when completed.

1. (Lot of 2) “CLARKE & WHITE / C / NEW YORK. / NII”, and a “CHALYBEATE WATER / OF THE / AMERICAN / SPA SPRING CO / N.J.”, (Tucker, C-11-4 & M-10), American, ca. 1855 - 1865, deep olive green and light green pints, smooth bases, applied double collar mouths.

The Clarke & White has a 2” long vertical crack stemming from a shoulder bruise. The Chalybeate has a 1” long crack in the applied mouth and some inside stain. Both are considered to be rare bottles!

2. (Lot of 2) “CLARKE & WHITE / C / NEW YORK”, and a Blacking Bottle, (Tucker, C-11-B-2), American, ca. 1830 - 1865, deep olive green and yellowish ‘old’ amber, 4 1/2” and 7 1/2”h, smooth and pontil scarred bases, applied double collar mouth and sheared and tooled lip.

Both are in perfect condition. The Clarke & White is full of trapped air bubbles.

Perfect condition, loaded with air bubbles.

About perfect.

5. “G.W. WESTON & CO / SARATOGA / N.Y.”, (Tucker, E-2-A type 1), New York, ca. 1850 - 1860, olive green shading from a deep color lower-half to a lighter upper, quart, improved pontil, applied double collar mouth.

Perfect condition, plenty of bubbles and glass swirls throughout. One of the nicer ones.

6. (Lot of 2) “G.W. WESTON & CO. / SARATOGA / N.Y.”, (Tucker, E-2-B-1 and E-4-B-2), New York, ca. 1855 - 1865, shades of deep olive amber pints, improved and smooth bases, applied double collar mouths.

The arched Weston example has a 1/4” in diameter chip off the outer edge of the lip. The other bottle has a 1/8” chip off the top edge of the lip and a tiny base ‘ding’.

7. “GETTYSBURG KATALYSINE WATER”, (Tucker, M-18), Pennsylvania, ca. 1865 - 1875, medium green quart, smooth base, applied double collar mouth.

An area of very light external haze is opposite of the embossing and is possibly traces of glue from an original label.

8. “GETTYSBURG KATALYSINE WATER”, (Tucker, M-18-A), Pennsylvania, ca. 1865 - 1870, medium olive yellow quart, smooth base, applied double collar mouth.

A 3/8” by 1/8” sliver type chip is off the edge of the base, otherwise perfect. An unusual color for this bottle! Howard Dean Collection.

9. “WHITE SULPHUR / WATER / GREENBRIER. VA”, (Tucker, M-59), Virginia, ca. 1855 - 1863, medium teal blue color quart, 9”h, smooth base, applied double collar mouth.

Cleaned to its original luster, but retains an area of light interior stain and a few light scratches. Nicely whittled glass, rated as being rare! Made prior to West Virginia becoming an independent state in 1863.

10. “WHITE SULPHUR / WATER / GREENBRIER. W.VA”, (Tucker, M-60), West Virginia, ca. 1863 - 1875, light to medium blue green tall quart, 9 5/8”h, smooth base, applied mouth.

Lightly cleaned, but still has some milky inside stain, external scratches and etching. Also a 3/4” vertical stress crack is in the mouth and neck. A scarce bottle, but with issues.

Cleaned to near perfect condition.

Lightly cleaned, but retains minor imperfections.

The emerald green example has some minor scratches.

15. “ALBURGH / A / SPRINGS. VT.”, (Tucker, V-1-A), Vermont, ca. 1865 - 1875, golden yellow amber quart, smooth base, applied double collar mouth.

A 3/8” by 3/16” ice pick ‘bruise’ is on the inside edge of the lip. Also an attempt was made to polish out a chip on the outer edge of the lip. A scarce bottle that displays as perfect when viewed from the front.
